PermitRoute — Driver Notice

PermitRoute is a routing and information tool provided by Gulf Coast Pilot Services LLC (“GCPS”) to assist independent pilot car drivers in planning oversize and overweight load movements. By accessing or using PermitRoute, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Section 1

   Advisory Tool Only

   Routes, clearances, permit references, and time-of-day information presented by PermitRoute are provided for informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for official permits, state Department of Transportation guidance, professional route surveys, or applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

2. Section 2

   Driver Responsibility

   The pilot car driver and the carrier remain solely responsible for verifying route legality, securing all required permits, confirming clearances, complying with escort requirements, and operating safely. Your professional judgment supersedes any information shown in PermitRoute.

3. Section 3

   No Guarantee of Accuracy

   While GCPS works to keep PermitRoute data current, road conditions, construction, weather, permit rules, height restrictions, and detours change frequently. GCPS does not warrant that any information is complete, accurate, or up to date.

4. Section 4

   Independent Contractor Status

   Drivers using PermitRoute are independent contractors or third-party providers and are not employees of Gulf Coast Pilot Services LLC. PermitRoute access does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship.

5. Section 5

   Limitation of Liability

   To the maximum extent permitted by law, GCPS, its affiliates, and its licensors will not be liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive — arising out of or related to the use of, inability to use, or reliance on PermitRoute, including but not limited to lost profits, vehicle damage, cargo damage, citations, fines, or third-party claims.

6. Section 6

   Service Availability

   PermitRoute is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. GCPS may modify, suspend, or terminate the service at any time without notice.

7. Section 7

   Use Subject to GCPS Terms

   Access to PermitRoute is limited to approved drivers in the GCPS network and is subject to the GCPS Driver Partner Agreement and any additional terms made available to you.
