FAQ

Common questions.

What loads require a pilot car escort?+

Requirements vary by state. As a rule of thumb: widths over 12'0", lengths over 75'-95', heights over 14'6", and overweight loads typically require one or more escorts. We help you confirm during quote review.

How quickly can you dispatch a pilot car?+

Dispatch responds within 30 minutes during business hours. For pre-booked moves, we have crews staged. Emergency loads are best handled by calling our 24/7 dispatch line directly.

Do you cover multi-state moves?+

Yes. We coordinate escorts across state lines, track each state's reciprocity for pilot car certifications, and handle handoffs at borders when required.

What insurance do you carry?+

GCPS carries $1M general liability and $2M umbrella coverage. Our independent drivers carry commercial auto and meet our minimum coverage standards.

What does a driver application require?+

Pilot car certification, commercial auto + general liability insurance, properly equipped vehicle (sign, lights, radios), and a clean MVR. Full details on the application page.
